Blue glaze is the theme for this firing (as it has been for a while now).  Lots of shades of blue.  It's a great color (I'm partial to it...it is my favorite color).  The blue glaze can be bold, making the piece a "statement piece." Or the blue can be more subtle like what you see on the big pots.  Variations are part of the firing process, but some of it can be controlled when I glaze by using different slips (thinned out glaze) beneath the blue glaze, making it darker or showing streaks of coppery browns between the blue runs.
This life that I get to live, making ceramics for a living, I don't take it for granted.  Not too many artists get to do this.  Many hold down a second (or a third) job, spending precious bits of time on what they actually love: making art.  I wouldn't be able to do this without you, our supporters and our friends.  Seriously.  By you choosing to shop with us you keep money in the local economy.  You are literally helping us put food on the table.  There is no stronger impact you can make than that.  Amanda and I are truly grateful and incredibly humbled by everyone's support of what we do.  And, we hope to get to do this for a very, very long time.

This is Eamon's second production cycle with us and he is really starting to find a groove.  He made a lot of gift-worthy items with really beautiful finishes.
