Eamon Rogers is happy to be here - Aug 2019

I found my way into the ceramic world the same way I’m sure a lot of people did. I took a class in college during my freshman year, and I found it more an engaging and interesting than anything else I had done up to that point. I was lucky enough to go to a small school with really excellent facilities and faculty, and that allowed me to really push myself and the work I was making, and explore a lot of different styles of firing and finishing pots. I gravitated towards wood firing because the surfaces are beautiful, and I’m a sucker for process and making life harder for myself. I learned a lot in my undergraduate, but I didn’t know everything I needed to be a potter and I needed more direction. I knew an apprenticeship is the best way to learn what being a potter means day to day, and North Carolina is the place to do it. Joseph was looking for an apprentice when I was looking to make a big change in my life, and he was the right person at the right time.

Cela m’a aidé à mieux organiser mes prochaines sorties, sans me précipiter.
